Glorieta Mountain meteorites were originally discovered in 1884 near Canoncito, New Mexico
and is classified as an Anomalous Pallasite. The strewnfield is extremely difficult to hunt due
to the mountainous terrain with steep ravines, loose gravel and is heavily wooded. There are two
types of Glorieta meteorites; "Pallasites", which have yellow-green olivine crystals
embedded in the iron-nickel metal, and then the "Siderites" which do not have olivine
crystals.
